Observations of spotted trees

in Paris region

On some spotted trees, always the same, I notice since 1992 in spring and in autumn:

the dates of appearance of the first flowers and of the first leaves.

The dates of blossoming for the same tree, from years to years, are very different, manifesting the considerable influence of the winter: a strict winter (very cold) or prolonged can postpone blossoming. Of course the date of blossoming varies from a species to the other one and to see examples, visit this page.
The influence of the winter on the appearance of the first leaves is less clear.

the dates of the end of the fall of leaves.

As for the appearance of leaves, fall is little sensitive to the season which precedes. Either the summer is humid (2002) or torrid (2003), fall occurs towards the same dates, in week near. Only meteorological events, as violent wind or frost, are likely to speed up the fall of leaves.

Let us add that the fall of leaves, just as its appearance, depends on species: American trees as the Tuliptree are the first to strip, and Asian, such as Japanese Pagodatree, are the last. The Linden and the Chestnut tree are close while the Plane tree keeps its leaves longer. It would be also possible to differentiate the trees leaves of which turn yellow completely and uniformly, for the great pleasure of the lovers of nature (ex: Tulip tree) and those who are reluctant to adorn themselves the fall colors, such as Plane tree : its leaves brown at the periphery , and so heterogeneous, some leaves remain green longer than others.
